THE RIGHT COVERAGE FOR YOUR PROJECT

Agree the scope.
Know what’s covered.

Inspection coverage and reporting depend on the service you engage. Confirm the requirements with your project team before earthworks begin.

01

Fill assessment

Visual inspection, sampling and laboratory testing to assess proposed fill against the intended use and project requirements.

  • Material inspection & sampling
  • Particle size & Atterberg limits
  • Compaction & CBR testing, as required
WHAT IT SUPPORTS

Assessment of fill suitability against AS 3798 and/or project-specific requirements.

02

Level 1 inspection & testing

Full-time supervision and testing during earthwork operations within the agreed scope of the Level 1 engagement.

  • Site preparation & fill placement
  • Moisture control & compaction
  • Test rolling & density testing
REPORTING

Inspection records and test results, with a statement of compliance where supported by the supervision and findings.

Explore Level 1 inspection & testing
03

Level 2 testing

Compaction testing of placed fill at the request of the site superintendent, with results provided for their review.

  • Testing at requested locations
  • Field density measurements
  • Density ratio results
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

Level 2 testing does not provide full-time supervision or a statement of compliance for the earthworks.

These summaries describe our service capabilities, not a project specification. Required coverage, testing frequency, acceptance criteria and reporting must be agreed for your project.

PROJECTS WE SUPPORT
  • Residential developments
  • Commercial construction
  • Roads & pavements
  • Trench backfilling

FIELD MEASUREMENTS. LABORATORY SUPPORT.

Connect the field result
to the material.

Our scope includes field density testing using the nuclear gauge method. Density ratios compare field measurements with laboratory reference values to assess compaction.

  • Nuclear gauge: AS 1289.5.8.1
  • Density ratio: AS 1289.5.4.1 / 5.7.1

The applicable methods, reference tests and reporting requirements are confirmed for each engagement.

BEFORE THE TEAM ATTENDS SITE

Plan the testing
before the next layer.

Contact us before the relevant earthwork stage so inspection coverage, test requirements and attendance can be coordinated.

  1. 01

    Send the project details

Provide the site address, superintendent or site contact, drawings, earthwork specification and proposed construction programme.

  2. 02

    Confirm the engagement

Agree the inspection level, work areas, testing frequency, material reference tests, reporting and required dates with our team.

  3. 03

    Coordinate site access

Confirm access, induction requirements, known hazards and site readiness. Attendance is subject to confirmation; an enquiry is not a confirmed booking.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before work begins.

Do I need Level 1 or Level 2?

The required service depends on your project specification and reporting needs. Level 1 includes full-time supervision within the agreed scope; Level 2 provides requested testing without a statement of compliance. Share your specification so the requirements can be reviewed before work starts.

Does a density test certify all of my fill?

No. Individual density results are not a statement of compliance for the entire earthwork project. Inspection coverage, material assessment and reporting obligations must be considered as part of the engagement.

Can you assess imported or on-site fill?

Our fill assessment service includes visual inspection, sampling and testing of proposed fill. Provide the source, material description, proposed use and project requirements so the assessment can be planned.

How do I arrange attendance?

Send us the site address, contact details, required service and proposed dates through the enquiry form, or call (03) 9879 2999. Our team will confirm availability, access requirements and the agreed scope.
